## You Can't Rewind a Storm

When the sky turns black and the wind sounds like a freight train, you won't be pacing the hallway. You won't be checking the radar. You'll be walking calmly down steel steps into reinforced concrete confidence.

Tornadoes don't check your intentions. Most families call after the near miss. After the hallway hunker-down. After the sirens. You don't get a second chance at ready.

Be the house that's ready.

### This Isn't About Concrete — It's About Responsibility

Your children trust you. Your family assumes you've thought ahead. Leadership isn't fear — it's preparation.

A storm shelter says: "Not here. Not my family."

#### Built to Hold the Line

- • 5,000 PSI concrete
- • ½-inch rebar every 12 inches
- • 10-gauge steel mesh

This isn't a box. It's a barrier between your family and the storm.

## Why Lubbock Families Choose Underground Concrete

On May 11, 1970, an F5 tornado tore through downtown Lubbock and the Texas Tech campus. Twenty-six people died. More than 500 were injured. The damage exceeded $135 million in 1970 dollars. That tornado reshaped the city — and it reshaped the way Lubbock families think about severe weather.

Lubbock sits in the southern corridor of Tornado Alley. The South Plains sees severe weather warnings every spring and summer. Storms develop fast across the flat terrain and give families very little time to react.

Underground concrete shelters eliminate the two biggest threats in a tornado: wind uplift and flying debris. Below grade, a shelter is shielded by the earth itself.

Unlike steel or fiberglass, our 5,000 PSI concrete reinforced with half-inch rebar and 10-gauge steel mesh doesn't flex, doesn't corrode, and doesn't require maintenance.

## Built for West Texas Weather

Every Sheltris shelter is built from 5,000 PSI reinforced concrete — significantly stronger than standard residential concrete at 2,500–3,000 PSI. Each unit is reinforced with ½″ rebar spaced every 12 inches and layered with 10-gauge welded steel mesh.

The door is 12-gauge powder-coated steel with a custom 3-point latching system. Designed to resist debris impact while remaining fully operable from the inside — even if the exterior is damaged. An electrical port comes standard for optional lighting and ventilation.

The shelters we install are built using designs tested at Texas Tech University's Wind Science & Engineering Center. They meet FEMA P-361 guidelines and ICC-500 standards (https://sheltris.com/resources/standards-testing).
